Sorry for your pain, but to be honest I don`t even know where the straps for mine are.
The bike is either balanced or not. Used it hundreds of times, just yesterday with the bike running as well. If you strap it before the tires are off the ground that could be a problem. Now once up the lock should be engaged as they tend to bleed off.

Hard to knock a 900lb bike off a stable jack. Must not have been stable in the first place.

truth be told the bike has been tied down on the jack since November. Worked on it off and on doing odd things since that time. After mounting the Tourpack I had taken it off the jack and left it on the side stand. Started back on it today and needed more room - so back on the jack it went with the tie downs. Too much in a rush I guess and didn't tighten them down.
Reason for the post is to remind everyone to tie that puppy down- all the time. Maybe the visual will always remind them.
Isn't the first dumb thing I've done - likely wont be the last. I do know that before next winter I will have a lift table

Wow! That sucks. Sorry man.

I never tie my bikes down to the jack. I just make sure they are centered with both frame rails on it. Never a problem. Yep. Definitely don't want to tie the bike before you are sure it's centered. I can see how that would cause this.

Feel for you buddy. When I went from a softail to a bagger years ago I also upgraded from the Craftsman jack to a Handy. Just was never comfortable having 900lbs of bike up on that thing, strapped down or not.
