My buddy said that too...he swears by his pullbacks.
Thats alot of work for me to swap those out...I have heat demons inside the bars n stuff....I'll keep it in mind though....thanks for the suggestion....

I recently bought the so called "fixed" backrest for my '05 Ultra. The thing is that it has multiple hole positions on the base portion that allow you to select the forward/backward location. Once that is selected, the actual back has a set screw that allows the angle to be changed.

And your pad can sit right on top of your seat right?
I have this 6 inch bar visable sticking up and then the pad....
I'd like to have the pad low down by the seat but I guess the "adjustable" $300.00 version doesnt allow that!!

None of them will fit down tight to the seat with the stock SG seat. The backrests have to work with seats that are anywhere from 2 inches thick to 5 inches thick. So, you have a thin seat, its gonna stick up higher above the seat. Look at my pics with the same backrest with the SG seat, vs the Sundowner seat.

Jesus that bike is beautiful!

Yours is a fixed mount which is lower....mine is adjustable and because it's the "adjustable mount" the damn thing sticks up about 6 inches of a steel bar (no cover or anything) THEN the pad goes on top of that. It just doesnt look finnished....

Not crazy about the wrinkly loose leather look of the rear of the SG pad either.

Ya think I would have figured all this out BEFORE I bought it!
I have no one to thank but myself on that one....I should have got the fixed mount...at least I wouldnt have to look at the steal bar.

Which backrest is that, and is the chrome back piece stock with it or added?

That particular one came from an 08 CV0 Road King, (got it for $100) but they make others in the same shape/size, just not with that stitch pattern, which is unique to the CVO. The backplate was standard on the CVO, but you can buy it as well from the catalog.
