I'm am curious what tires you all use. Mine has a dunlop m/t 90b16 74h on it right now. I need to replace and I am thinking about going to a metzler marathon. I am not the original owner of this bike so I dont know how many mile I got on the dunlop. My experience in the past with suzuki I had with the OEM tire only got about 9,000 miles. After going with a metzler I more than doubled those miles. Local dealers want $170 for metzler American Moto Tire $108 but I am not sure about the right size. They have a m/t 90b 16. It dont say anything about the H number. Will that tire fit?

i had a similar doubling of tread life on my Honda. Alas the FLTR got about the same as the OEM D-402. I wouldn' expect much more.... but it depends on how hot your area is, and how rough the roads are... 2-up/solo etc
Metzler doesn't have the details that Dunlop has http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.com/tirecatalog.asp
but you can look up the OEM D-402, and the Elite-3 (for example) and see the relative sizes of the tires.
I'm using MT-90 E-3's.... I've gotten good grip, and good wear .
Checkout JakeWilson.com free shipping over $99 and with promo code JW009 you get $20 more off. I just got 2 E-3's delivered for $176
There are many threads in this forum on tires; reliability, mileage, handling. I get about 7,000 mi. on my Dunlop OEM. Buddy of mine gets 9-10,000 mi. While I was getting a new rear tire last week a fellow came in with a nightster and ran through his rear tire at 2600. Riding style and carry weight has a lot to do with wear.
My understanding is that Metzler is a softer tire thereby providing better road stability, but faster wear.
E3's here and very happy with them, I got mine on line from Dennis Kirk for 196.00 (both) with and additional $20.00 for UPS up charge. Do a search I believe I saw someone had purchased much cheaper recently, but not from Dennis Kirk.
