Default SCARED!! PC111 versus fuel milage ???

Just about ready to do a PC111; when I read a post about gas mileage going from 40's to the 30's. What has been your experiences with your mileage after the PC111/dyno install? Just a seat of the pants figure cost: PC111 and dyno about $650; loss of 10mpg x 5 gal tank= 50 miles loss per tank fill up. At an average in most places; $ 3.50 a gal.for premium. For a 2,000 mile trip, wouldn't that be about $180.00 more for gas? Does the PC111 give you that much performance; etc versus the up front cost and down the road exspense??? Just throwning this out there and wondering about mileage changes--THANKS!!

If you are worried about saving money, buying a HD was a bad move.

Regardless, the best I have seen is 36mpg after pipes, PCIII and A/C. My front cylinder runs richer and I still need to find a better tuner to get it where I want it.

One thing to keep in mind. When you have it dyno'd let them know you still want gas mileage. They dyno'd mine for top performance and killed my mileage. I went back in and had them redo it cause the mileage sucked. They adjusted it again and my mileage is up with no noticable loss of power. Most dyno techs think you want all the power you can get. Unfortunately, mileage suffers.

Mark, I have a 06 EG Standard with 203 cams and tru duals and a PCIII usb, had it dynoed at 78 hp and 85 tq and still get 47 mpg, now that was some interstate riding as well, about 70 miles to be excact, but if you have a good tuner you'll have no worries.

Went from 47 to 42 mpg. I am happy with the performance gain. You don't get something for nothing.

I was running about 180 miles per tank--about 40 miles/gallon. I added the Ness big sucker, Rinehart 2 into 1 pipes and a generic PCIII map for big air and big pipes. There is a noticeable difference in power but I am still getting about 180 miles per tank. Haven't had a chance to get it on a dyno yet, though.

Ride safe.

P.S. I agree, buying a Harley is not a wise move if you are trying to save money. Mine just sucks money out of my pocket every time I see something chrome or that will make it go faster!

PCIII added 10 HP. Runs cooler and much stronger. A good tuner can tune for HP or milage or for both. I am getting about 40mpg. Not bad for a dresser. I am really happy with this bike after the PCIII and dyno tune. Dynotune by a certified Dynojet tuner only cost me $150. REALLY makes a great improvement.

My gas mileage did change some but not enough to worry about. If you are that concerned about the cost and what your mileage is going to be then I would leave the bike stock without any changes.

It's all in how it's tuned....

My 95" has cams, heads, etc... PCIIIusb (100hp/100ft/lbs torque). Milage is between 40 & 44'ish.... recently got 48 (2up & loaded) in the mountains, but really doesn't count......

Milage is really not that much different than before.
