The hole is more of a figure 8 than just slotted so you will have to take the passing lamps apart to move them forward. That will require a special socket with a slot in it for going around the wire and just making a half tirn at a time to not stress the wire. You could also cut the wire and splice it back. I don't remember if unplugging the wire is an opton.
Before doing anything, get the bike straight up and sight in the lights on a wall. When done sight the lights on the same marks. Doing this on the jiffy and without sighting on the wall is anyones guess where the will be shining when your done.
You can make your own socket if you have a cut off wheel or dremel. It's a lot easier to just cut the damn wires though, and splice them back together afterwards.
Swifty, nice scoot, looks fairly familiar! I wound up buying a cheap socket and slicing it as stated above, worked fine but I am still chasing the aim.
Before splicing your wires back together, thread one end of the wire to be spliced through a piece of shrink tubing slightly larger than the diameter of the wire or if you are using a wire splice crimp, use shrink tubing slightly larger than the crimp . After you splice the wires, slide the shrink tubing back over the splice and heat the tubing until it shrinks tightly around your splice and this will make a waterproof splice.
Thanks, but Im not sure about cutting wires. I have wired many things in my home and on the bike, but hate it. What kind of cheapy socket do you all use and what size? Thanks again
Any cheap deepwell socket will do. It's a 9/16 iirc. After having mine apart several times, I finally wised up and just cut the wires and taped them back together. Many thousands of miles later, still going strong.

Did you already get your fairing? I'll lend you the one I made if you like, I can send it with the fairing. Just email me, 'cause I don't get time to stop in here often.
