Default XM

I'm having trouble with my 2nd Harmon Kardon head unit. If I go with a biketronic set up will my HD XM unit be compatable with say a Sony head unit? After paying $5oo for the thing I hate to lose it,I really like the XM,just sick of jacking with the pos Harmon Kardon. Thanks, Jim

I've got the Biketronics kit on my 06 Electra Glide standard. Last year I added the Sirius/XM unit to it that lives inside the fairing. All functions are controlled from the handlebars and unless you look carefully for the satellite antenna that is between the windshield bags you'd never know it had satellite radio. I've got about $600 total invested. If I were in your shoes I'd sell the HD satellite unit and put that money toward the Biketronics kit. You don't say what bike you have but if it has CB & intercom, you'd lose those functions.

No it will not be compatible. My 06 HK unit died and I sent it to Ironcross and found out it was unrepairable. I wanted to keep my XM module so I went with anouth HK unit. Ironcross bought my guts of my old unit for $200.

I spoke with Tony about another HK unit, as I wanted to keep my XM module, and he told me to get one off Ebay and I did. Got an 07 unit for $400.

I personally like the HK unit...but the choice is yours.

Thanks Mattman, I was afraid that was going to be the answer. Jim

Multiple radio issues are usually bike related. What's the defect with the radio?
