Default Shock question (Progressive part #s)

So, I'm looking at getting some new shocks. Looking at possibly some 13" OEM and looking at some other options as well (I kinda like the Suspension Technologies shock).

But, as I'm looking at the Progressive part #s, I notice that the part #s change for FLH after '05 on some of the shocks. For example: '87-'05 FLH 12.5" 412 HD shocks call for part # 412-4019B/C, but for the same shock for yrs '06-'10 FLH call for 412-4076B/C. It's not a stock length so that cant be the reason. And, the OEM Touring shocks are interchangeable and are good to go from '87-'10 that I know of.

Am I safe to say the earlier part #s will work on the newer years too?

*DISCLAIMER* The above is just an example...please don't tell me that the 412's are no good, or to go see what our forum sponsors have to offer. I'm not trying to start another shock debate.

yes they will. My experience is with the 12.5 heavy duty. The new ones have less travel with heavier springs. I went back to the 4019 and a better ride.
