My first post on this forum is to ask some much needed advice regarding Cam and Map upgrades. My 1999 FLHTCUI with 32k miles on it, is currently equipped with a Stage I kit ( SE/KN A/C and Not for Street Use slip on SE pipes. Since I am the second owner and I do not know any of the bikes cam bearing, cam chain tensioner or MAP history, I am entertaining on having the following upgrades done:
Call Jamie at Fuel Moto ( his add is on the site) and tell him exactly what you are doing to the scooter, he will map a Power commander for you for a simple plug-n-play install. Bike will fire right up and then if you so choose at a later date you could have it dyno-tuned for that last little umph!
Wally, I have the M&M EFI on my 99' bagger and it was not an issue. She purrs like a kitten. Or maybe she snorts like a pig! Numerous people told me that the M&M was going to be a big issue and I looked into the conversion but a very well respected engine builder PM'd me one day and told me it was all hype and to save my money, so I did and it is fine. But that's just my scoot his could be different.
