I have a RAM mount that I bought off the mountguys about a year ago, finally used it on a long trip this week, the thing worked awesome, it was rock solid, no shaking at all. I mounted the ball on my risers, and had the GPS in the center, great view and I did not have to take my eyes off the road for very long, which was a good thing riding in LA/Hollywood/Beverly Hills.
I just occurred to me that whilst comparing these different mounts, there are differing levels of vibration on different Hogs. My Heritage is the smoothest bike I've ever had, so the cheap little quick-detach mount works excellently - but it might not on a shovel or something.
you can see the bike mount for the garmin nuvi.it is too small and it warks perfect on my 2003 flht.only 2 tireups, and you can put it at the left handlebar.
Here are the pics. I took a piece of aluminum angle and cut it to fit. I then contoured it to fit the back of the ram Nuvi mount. I then drilled the holes to mount it to the inner dash and for the wiring plug. I painted the bracket semi flat black so it matches the finish of the inner fairing. I spent around an hour and a half and I have a whopping $35 including harness and everything in it.

I have the Harley 2 pouch windshield bag. I mounted a ball by using double sided tape and a bolt to the bracket in between the 2 bags. Then I used the ram mount with the cradle for my Nuvi. Now it sits right in between the bags and I can still use the bags. I have a 6 inch windshield and it is about 2-3 inches below the windshield. I look right at the GPS and never take my eyes off the road. If you want a picture let me know I will try and get one. I used this mount and instead of clamping on my handlebars I layed the bracket down on the bracket to the windshield bags. http://cgi.ebay.com/Garmin-StreetPil...item35a7edf49f
Jagerbomb;nice but does it vibrate a lot? I put the supplied disc (stick on) on my windshield to see what would work used suction mount and rode around the block shook so much it moved GPS down an to left so I can't see it.Is your mount attached to a stock Garmin nuvi mount?Thats how I was looking to mount mine as I have a black windshield I don't look through.Any more photos of just the mount????Thanks

Yeah it vibrates at 1500-1800 rpms but at any decent riding speed it is smooth as glass. It is attaches to the RAM mount for the Nuvi 660. I didn't take any pics of just the mount. It is a simple piece of angle shaped the same as the RAM mount with 2 holes for the mount and 2 holes to mount it to the inner fairing. It's been on there over 7000 miles and I just love it, no problems and easy to see and change the settings even while moving, I like to use the speedo if I'm not using the guidance.
