Hey, if you don't use the windshield, then why not bolt some stainless allens thru it? Might give it a bit of a tough look if you do it right. Use rubber washers next to the plastic so it doesn't crack.

Ram-Mount

I use this one that uses the mirror stem, but if you don't have a mirror you could bolt it on.
To me, it keeps the handle bars looking cleaner when you don't have it on.

Where did you get the strap mount you have? That sounds like what I am looking for.

Got this system to mount my Tom Tom Rider and also added the ultra tilt. Very good quality and nice people to deal with.

I hard wired mine to the Kuyakyn Fuel door mount. I'm using a Garmin 765T and a RAM mount with a couple of mount convertors. For the power, I wired into the HD accessory connection by taking off my console and using an aftermarket hard wire 5 volt to 12 volt converter. If you look in the wiring diagram you can use this connector without having to use the switch on the console. My GPS turns on when I turn on the ignition and the accessory switch is still in the off position. I like that my GPS is right in front of me and doesn't vibrate like it would if mounted to the handlebars. I feel this is a better mount than on the handlebars as it is in my line of sight as if I was looking at my speedo or my tach. I only have to look straight ahead at the 12 o' clock position and then down to 6 o' clock to see the GPS. The GPS is closer to my field of view and I can see the screen instantly. If you need more information for the mounts and how I wired this up, send a PM...

I agree with HarleyRN. I mounted my 660 on the fuel door using the Kuryakyn kit. I ran the wiring under the tank console to the fuse box so I can remove the fuel mount if I like. I also installed the keyless fuel door button. Since any barrel key will open it, it was pretty much useless.
