Question Another Cruise Problem

I'm new to the site and have tried to search my problem. Hopefully someone can offer suggestions. Bought a 2005 Road King Classic and owner said he never used the cruise. He had the bars changed out by a (mechanic) and so far I can get the Red light to come on when cruise is switched on. The only way the Green light comes on is if I hold the resume button while turning the ignition switch on. I have already replaced the set/resume switch. Seems like there could be some wiring issues if the green light comes on when the resume is held and not the other way around i.e. (set)? I cannot get the codes to come up either. Brake light is not engaged like I have seen others have found. Sorry for the long winded speel.

Default Cruise Control

Try removing the 2 wires that connect to the throttle cable roll off switch (located just at the front of the fuel tank, next to the frame). I also have replaced the set/resume switch, which wasn't the solution. Removed the throttle roll off switch and it functions properly. I ended up replacing the throttle cable, but ran the cruise for 6 - 8 months with out a problem. Hope this helps

Disconnected throttle roll off. No Luck. Cannot even get the codes to come up. Seems like there is something missing when the handlebars were changed by previous owner. There is a loose orange wire with white stripe under nacelle area. It has a male end with plastic cover. Also a black(ground I assume) same end without cover. Trying to trace this through wiring diagrams in Manual but not helping as yet.

Any other ideas where to start looking?

Scott

make sure the wires are in the right slot on the plug. Make sure no wires have been pinched by accident.
