Fairing mirror holes

When I dropped my bike off at the HD dealer I gave them the plastic fender plugs to put on when they put on my new bars. Of course they looked at me like I was crazy and said that the plugs would absolutely not work. Should I have made them go to this site on their computer to show how nicely these plugs actually do work??? Why does it always happen that people on this forum come up with great ideas, use them all the time, and then the service departments at the dealerships know nothing about it and when asked to do it, say it can't be done? I've noticed the same thing with car forums and dealerships.

Kuryakn cover plate
Kuryakn also has cover plate. I used them, but first I painted them black and they look good. Only $29 bucks. The paul yaffe onces were nice but I couldn;t get them, back order from everyone I called including Yaffe direct. GO FIGURE.

Thanks for the pics 07FLHT. I showed them to the dealer so they HAD to try to do what they originally told me was not going to work. The Chrysler fender inserts from Lowes worked great and cost virtually nothing.
