Default Question about adjustable riders backrest

I have a 09 Ultra and it has the heat deflectors, do you have to remove the heat deflectors to mount the backrest adjusting lever? I have heard some say you can't have both.

the stock harley heat sheaild make access to the lever difficult at best,rj originals heat sheilds access is easy.

I have the Kury heat shields and the adjustable back rest. As far as installing, I would install the adjust lever 1st. than the heat shields.

As long as you have the 09 backrest assembely you won't have to take off the heat sheilds. I have the exact same setup and it works just fine!!

No you don't have to take the heat sheilds off to mount the lever..Just dive in and start playing with it, it took me a little while to figure out, but it was'nt that hard..

Good luck
