The hard cold facts are Harleys are everywhere these days, gone are the waiting lists and inflated prices in most cases. Then you have the advance of other brands, victory, yamaha and many custom clones that used harleys are just not bringing what they once did. I find it hard to belive the dealer offered you that deal,5500.00 to trade up 9years, thats him offering you very close to what a new 97 was at msrp. I would ****** his arm off before he woke up! I bet if you try to take the deal, he starts back paddling or adding extra costs or just flat says No Can Do! .I can say this because I was offered a trade to a 07 for mine and 6500.00 on my 02 classic and mine only has 2300 miles on it.
Joe, your deal sounds too good to be true. Take it ... definitely. Some of the other replies sounds like we have an abundance of coffee table conversation pieces. Maybe you could trade those babies for some crystal paperweights.
I would go for it if it was me. You can always go and trade next year for a 07 or a 08 and at best be pushing up the cash on a two year old bike. If you are not happy with a 06,this is if you really want to move up 5k is pretty cheap!
well i just put a down payment at the dealer and i went for the road glide in black and silver,$17800 out the door. the trade is not worth what they said i knew it was bs but it is 7800 plus my ride i feel good about it.what do you think?
all the dealers do is aggravate you, after i told them the ride sat there since last year and i had the cash it didn't make sense to keep it. after we argued and i walked out they aggreed to do the deal. it's like they offer you something then add prep charges they already lost to get you pissed.so finally they said yes to there own deal. crazy huh?
