My 09 EGS has a new Biketronics kit in it that I like alot. Thanks to all the help from here, I had a good idea of what to expect installing it and what it would sound like.
My question is about my security system. It's making a beeping sound through my speakers whenever I turn the ignition off.It seems like it's a couple of beeps but they aren't very long or loud but they also sort of pop when it does it.What I want to do is to figure out a way to stop it from happening. Its the factory keyless security system if that makes a difference.Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
I just installed a retro radio kit with a Sony head unit. It does the same thing. I think it is a security thing. At least it will remind me to remove the faceplate from the unit when i leave the bike. Good luck figuring it out. Gee.
I have the Biketronics and a Pioneer unit. Mine also beeps but can shut it off via a menu option.
I am having a couple gotchas though when riding. At times it will change channels, other times it will shut off, or will switch from one audio selection to another. For example if I'm listening to XM it will switch to FM. There must be a loose connection somewhere. Looks like I'll have to take off the outer fairing a do some debugging.
Thanks for the ideas.I thought it had to do with the security system because the flashers are blinking at the same time it does the popping but that just could be coincidence.
bldap as far as your gothas,I think mine has done the same thing a couple times also.I thought it was my imagination when it happened. Then thought I had done it but I was sure I hadn't touched the controls at all.Interesting, maybe I'm not as crazy as I thought. Thanks again
That's a Sony for you. I have had more then a few over the years all in my bike. I could never turn it off. Beware of the rain it ruined a few of those units in my bike. Good thing they are cheap to replace.
