My bike seems to "cruise" the best around 2500 RPM.
+ 1 my bike runs better and get's better gas mileage if I stay at 2500 or higher. I don't run my engine hard. I try to stay between 2500 and 3500 RPM's
Once in awhile I'll punch it up over 4K, I'm afraid to hit it too hard, I think I caused the rock slide on 64 with these Dyna Tuned Jackpot's...lol
Woo-hoo. Everybody calm down. This has gotten kind of out of hand. If the damn bikes struggles, bucks, snorts or hesitates when you give it the gas, no matter what gear you are in, pull in the clutch and drop down a cog or two.
No need to overthink this.
This is all in fun so ditto LOL.. and I have to ask, did someone post shifting at redline or when the shift light comes on? I only saw "when the light comes on" I'll check the posts further up the ladder.

on the hiway at 70 mph, i think my bike is turning about 2300-2400 or in that area. if i fall below that rpm level, i'm clicking back into fifth. it's easier on the motor to keep it in its happy rev range rather than winding it too tight, or especially, lugging it.
