This was mainly my fault but it is a big lesson learned. So I was riding to a camp ground that my unit was having a get together at. While riding there I came up on a pick up truck which was driving rather slow. So I wasn't in a rush but for some reason I was fallowing about a car length behind and center lane. These are two things I never do. So out of no where I see a huge tree branch come out from under the truck. So with no time to move, because my dumb azz was riding to close, bang I hit it. Front and rear tire off the ground and a loud bang. So I back off, take a deep breath and make it to the camp ground. After looking at the bike the only thing I see is a couple chips of wood. So lesson learn is stop being an idiot and back the hell up.
Glad you are ok and didn't go down. I amvery careful about riding someone's a$$. I have been a CDL driver for a long time and have seen all kinds of stuff come off of vehicles, and I hate someone right on my butt as well.
Been there done that.
Last year - same thing except it was a minor sink hole, some 3 feet round and about 6 inches deep. Was on the Beemer LT at the time thank God - scared the crap outta me. truck in front of me just rode over it but being too close i couldn't avoid it.
Anytime i get close i remember that day
Good lesson learned - glad you and the bike are ok
many years ago I was following a semi too close on the highway, all of a sudden he goes over a bunch of 2x4's which were laying on the road...managed to get over them without dropping it...I think it took about 24 hours for my heart to come out of my throat.
