Default seat for roadking

Was wondering if anyone has the saddlemen explorer seat on there roadking and what they think about it? I have a 2000 rk and I am looking for a good comfortable seat. I have the stock 2 pc seat now and I have alot of hip pain and legs start to go numb after about 20 or 30 miles. Any info would help. Thanks

Don't know about the Saddlemen but have you looked at the Corbin Dual Tour? Many here recommend the Mustang though I didn't like one after 20 miles.

Sitting on the Mustang is like sitting on jelly. It wiggles from side to side.

i have a 2000 rk as well with the stock seat. my *** doesnt start hurting till after about 200-300 miles but when it starts hurtin, it hurts bad.
wish i knew why a motorcycle seat hurts your *** so much.
next bit of money i get i'm definitely getting a new seat, either a mustang or the sundowner touring hd seat, cause i've heard they are nice.

Another HUGE fan of the Corbin dual tourer! I too, did not like the mushy Mustang.

The stock seat was limiting the miles and she was not happy with the back seat. I do like the size and cleaner lines and the position of the stock seat. I bought a mustang touring seat and it is much better than the original stock seat and works well for two up. Once I had the Mustang seat - I sent the stock seat to Mean City Cycle and had them work it. I now ride with a comfortable 'stock' looking seat when I ride and put the big seat on with the rack when heading out two up. Both seats are now very comfortable for many miles and burning multiple tanks in the same day...

+1 on the sundowner seat, it looks big but it's damn comfortable.

Do you want a solo, or twwo-up, or solo with pillion? There's no reason you should be in pain in 20 or 30 miles. I've had 3 back surgeries, and bad hips for 15 years, and can ride for several hundred miles in comfort.

Not trying to hijack the thread so if I get ignored I won't complain.

How are any of these seats with the Sacrum area? That is a triangle shaped area of a couple of bones right above the tailbone. After an hour or so mine starts to get very sore, feels like I was whacked with a baseball bat. After a day I can barely stand up. I've had the Sundowner seat, stock and Tall Boy from HD on the bike. I had Mean City re-work the Tall Boy and he made great improvements but the problem is still there. To be fair with Mean City I had them re-work the seat before I completely understood what my problem was now I wouldn't feel right having them re-adjust the seat a second time.
