Question Shifter Linkage Broke

Been lurkin and learnin here for a while but first post so be gentle with me. Went for a spin yesterday and the front connector on the linkage came apart. Did a search and I believe it's a heim joint (ball and socket type assembly?) I'm no mechanic but this looks pretty simple to fix. Am I wrong? I've got an '05 RK Custom. Can I get just the connector at a dealer? Any tips?

This happened to me on a Fly and Ride in the middle of nowhere on Rt 66 Wyoming/NV border. Had to tear of the band of some underwear to jury rig it to get back to Vegas. It is a shaky connection. I now replace it with one of the chrome add ons from HD. It has a more traditional nut/bolt connection.

Replace the stock ball sockets with heim joints and never worry about it again.

I've got a write-up on how to fix it permanently here or you could find a set on ebay.

First pic is a ball and socket and the second is a heim joint. The ball and sockets are a POS. If you have the ball and socket set up, it's always a good idea to carry a few zip ties. They come in handy for a quick fix when the linkage fails.
