Default Going from Duel to Single front brake?

Hey guys,
I have been thinking about dropping the right front rotor (brake). I want to have better access and be able to see my spoked wheel. I'm concerned about the loss of stopping power though. Any suggestion? Have any of you done this and noticed a big loss in stopping power?

Thanks for any advice!!

Dean

Why not just take off a rotor and see how ya like it? Easy job, and you'll know the difference. Then, give a review of duals verses single.

That's pretty funny Bounty......don't try that manuver as the results will be a disaster.

I am going to go single rotor as well. Best solution is to go with Performance machne 13" single rotor and their 6 piston caliper. That will stop plenty well and be really sweet looking. Of course its gonna cost you some coin and you have to change the front master cyclinder as well as the bore on it is made for a twin rotor/caliper set up. Call Perfromance Machine those guys know a whole bunch about brakes on Harleys!

I've gone from duals to single and concur , if you want to maintain good stopping power I'd suggest increasing rotor size and piston count . Brembo and PM are both good choices. Steel braided lines and good pads are a must (Lyndall, EBC) .
