This happen to me when I switched from regular oil to synthetic. My bike at that time was six years old with 15000 miles, so its not quite the same. But did you just recently switch to synthetic?
Its an 06, there is no gasket, seal, O-ring or oil passage between the motor and trans.
Degrease it, get your dealer to put some leak detector in the motor oil and ride it for a day or 2, shine a black light on it in the dark. If it glows green its the case seal.
Case seal is 6.5 hours labor!
Im just wondering why you would have to go through the dye check when its already known that its engine oil thats seeping?

Beary
Sure did- when i bought the bike last year it had 1100 miles, i switched to amsoil in all 3 holes, i've heard of this happening with synthetics.
My '03 Dyna has had the same issue since day one. It really is not an oil leak. There should be no oil between the engine and trans. Every time I wash it, I simply spray a little break cleaner on that area and give it a little scrubbing with my wife's toothbrush. The bike looks fine, but the wife's teeth are getting a little funky looking.
I bought the bike used in Jersey used last year from a HD dealer an d i live in ohio. Can i take this bike to a dealer close to me even if i didnt buy it there.
