Hard to tell from the pic, but it looks like dirt is covering some of it up top near the base of the rear jug and it is dripping down? If so, then it is more than likely just a base gasket leaking. Can be fixed fairly easily if you know what you are doing. Also a good time to do some upgrades like a 95" if you haven't already bumped it up.

Its not dripping down from the bottom of the jug. its coming from the case that bolt to trans. This bike only has 4800 miles on it and its stock. is there a gasket there or o-ring seal ?

HD fixed my similar leak under warranty. There is a gasket/seal there. Not sure if yours is still warranted or not.

No o-ring or gasket just sealent. good luck I have tried everything but splitting the case. Iv'e done gray silicon, two part epoxy and locktite's creaping case sealer( the green stuff). Some say yamabond will fix it but when I googled yamabond their is like 8 different one's. Good luck.

If that is the case, then yes they will have to re seal it.

My 07 did that, when I had an indy do my 103 kit, he told me that theres just a film of sealant between the cases and they would have to be split to correct. But I fixed it my self unwittingly. I use to run my oil level at the max, well last year while on a trip to Canada, I had an overheating issue due to the lower fairings which caused a loss of oil pressure. So I removed the fairings of course (sold them too), and was told not to max out the oil level, keep it about a 1/2 qt down. Guess what no more oil seeping between the cases.
It was explained to me there is a small void between the eng/trans, and the extra oil would seep into the void and not drain back but would seep out the top when it became full.
Anyway it worked for me.

WOW bagman1 I hope that works. You do the same thing with those ford 7.3 diesels. Manual sais 15qts but put 14qts and the after cooler lines quit leaking. Thanks for the idea.

Its an 06, there is no gasket, seal, O-ring or oil passage between the motor and trans.

Degrease it, get your dealer to put some leak detector in the motor oil and ride it for a day or 2, shine a black light on it in the dark. If it glows green its the case seal.

Case seal is 6.5 hours labor!
