Default HogTunes Issues

I installed the amp and speakers in my 07 StreetGlide a year or so ago.. Have about 3,300 miles on the bike since..Anyway, something has started acting up..at low volume, the speakers seem to some and go, the left will work, the right, then both,,seems as you adjust the volume higher, it gets better..also, when the speakers quit, the sound seems muffled on the other...I remember a few months after I recieved them, they sent another wiring harness, which I installed as directed...anyone else have this problem?

I had similar trouble with the amp on two occasions and the problem was the rheostat where you adjust the gain on the unit. If you can make it misbehave while the outer fairing is off, try giggling this rheostat with a screwdriver and see if you hear any change.

I had problems with two amps and eventually asked Pez to remove the rheostat and hard-wire it into a +3 configuration, which he said he could do. He ended up wiring it for +5, which I liked even better, and I've had no problem since.

I'd like to say that Pez' willingness to help was excellent. There was no denial or other BS, but he jumped right onto the problem and dealt with it.

Are you sure it's the amp? My HK radio had the same intermittent symptoms with or without the amp in the circuit.

I had a strange problem like that when I first installed my amp...Pez sent me a new amp and all was good after that.

Same problem here. I remounted the amp allowing a little more room between it and the radio. Used padded velco to add some height. Dont really know why, but the problem was solved.
