Go to the HD website and under the handlebar section there is a pdf that lists every bar they have and all the specs on them. Great to make comparisons.
I just finished putting the wild1 575's on this evening and went for a test ride. I am very pleased with the positions. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...esnt-work.html This link is for my post. I had trouble with the wiring but it was my fault. I posted pics of both handlebars together so you can see the difference in them. The 575 is a little wider, taller, closer, but it feels like the bars are not turned to me as much. But the height of the bars seem perfect for me. Keeps me in more of an upright position. With the lower bars I would catch myself slumping to them. I don't feel I will have that problem now.
thanks guys, it sounds like most seem to like the sweepers +2. I am thinking they are probably right for me also. I am going to paint inner fairing and want to change the bars then. I believe I have read where I will need a 4" longer clutch cable and that should be all?
You could call your local dealer and ask if they have any bikes there with different bars on them. You could go sit on it and see. Also forum members in your area will problem let you sit on theirs. Or if you frequent a local bar check some out there.
+1 on the +2 sweepers. I put them on over the winter when I painted my inner. Although I only have a couple hundred miles on since (due to a broken heel), they feel and look awesome, well priced, and yes, they only needed a +4 clutch cable. With the help of a local HD tech, he and I did the swap in my garage in 3 hrs (including switching the inner) Here is the link that I looked at that showed great comparison pics.
I like my ergo up bars. They flatten your wrist position more like drag bars. I have pictures in my albums.
Good Luck.
02 EGlide,
I've looked at the Wild 1s mentioned in this tread and don't see where it will flatten out my wrists like I wanted. Even before searching archives I was thinking about the Ergo UPs; they appear to suit MY needs. If you (or others with this config of KW Ergo UPs) can you share:
Are you more comfortable with a) wrist position, and b) potential reduction in shoulder strain?
Finally, and maybe of equal importance, did you need to change throttle, clutch, & electrical cablings?
