Default What is the size thread ?

Does anybody know the saize of the re threader i need to rethread the hole in the middle of my fairing there are 3 screws and the center one's threads got all screwed up i have been to auto zone I know its a torx 27 but rethreaders come in 1/4, 5/16, 3/8 i think its 1/4 but any help would be appreciated

Certainly the right (and probably cheaper) option is new inserts as suggested

If you do the HD insert be sure to note that the slotted end of the insert is NOT for a flat blade screw driver. It is for cutting its own thread into the insert cavity. Use a 1/4-20 hex head bolt with a nut on it threaded up under the hex head to take up space and screwed into the insert. Use a socket wrench on the hex head bolt to drive the insert into the fairing. To go the extra mile, the outer thread pitch on the insert is a 3/8-16. If you have access to that size tap, it will make the job easier.

I just checked out dawgs link. It says it all.
