just buy a L shaped bracket at home depot or Lowes. Drill 2 holes in it to and through the old bracket. Put 2 bolts in it, and drill a hole so it can still use the bolt that goes into the fairing. Will never break again.

+1 I just replaced both mine @ $45.00 apeice!! What a waste of about $99.00!! (9.??% sales tax here in LA!) Was changing out inner fairing, was in a hurry, had to go to Harley for a new seal & just bought the things! Almot $100.00!! Thats like, 3 bottles of Jack (on sale @ Stater Bros. $32.00!) & a 12 pack of Coke! The more I'm think'in about it, the madder I'm gettin!

One of the other threads says these break alot. So I took mine to a decent welder who Tigg'ed em up and included bracing. With the braces Im hoping theyll last. And the welding was cheaper than new brackets. Considering the weight they carry, theyre kind of thin.

Thanks for the tip. I was thinking of adding rubber spacer between bracket and fairing to absorb some of the vibration...but sounds like that is not needed.
