Maybe cause I'm getting tired bike working on it but here goes my qestion. Put on the new backer plate and tring to put the filter on. I installed the three bolts that go into the plate but when I put on the filter the torx bolts seem too long. They are the three that came with the bike and Fuel Moto didnt give me any other ones. What stupid thing am I doing.
seems to me that you should've gotten everything in this photo:
the 3 longer bolts are basically combination bolts/studs that screw into the backing plate and accept the screws that hold the filter in place. you might want to check the instructions on their website to be sure. http://fuelmotousa.com/harley_filter.htm
I got everything in the photo. My question is what hold the filter to the back plate. Do the three bolts in the pic go in front of the filter or behind it. Looks like to me it goes behind. If that the case what hold the filter.
They're only $129...I have them on both of my bikes. It's a great price for the SE backing plate the K & N filter and all the hardware. You can still use your original AC cover with this kit.
I put the kit on my Ultra Limited but I can't figure our where to hang the wires that were clipped to the original backing plate. They don't seem to fit onto the S.E. backing plate. Any suggestions?
