Added LidGear Storage System
Added the LidGear Storage system to the Limited today. Probably the best $55 I could have spent for inside the saddle bags storage. I don't remember who posted one of the original items about this product ... but thanks for posting it. This is a class company selling good products at a fair price.
It was an easy install, and I love the way they work. I'll take pictures tomorrow. Basically the full system includes two under the lid organizers and two pouches. The lid organizers replace the OEM tethers and are held in place by the original screws. The pouches also utilize the screw system, but hand down inside by the wall of the saddlebag.
I had the under the lid system from an after market manufacturer on my Ultra. This was a similar system to what HD sells. It was held in place by double-sided tape. The dang things kept coming lose. The double-sided tape that holds them to the inside of the lid was not strong enough to carry anything weighing more than a few ounces.
So far, I like the LidGear system because it actually replaces the OEM tethers and uses the screws to hold it in place. The system is well made and appears to be made of a material very similar to the OEM tether. The stiching is well done. I especially like the design of both the lid organizers and the little pouches that fit down inside the bag. It gives you plenty of storage options, and helps keep things from rolling around inside the bag.
The best part, I got them on Ebay and saved the S&H charges (search LidGear). The seller contacted me the next business day, left positive feedback even before he shipped the gear, and got me the product in just 2 days! Most Ebay sellers hold you rating ransom until you leave a positive for them (I hate that tactic), and so it was nice to see someone who actually gave a positive to the buyer first.
