Default Cams or big bore

I have a 2004 FLRHSI and the bike is great at 1 up riding. 2 up I would like a little more low end grunt. I don't run much in the higher rpms, shift at 4000 cruise at 2500. It is pretty hilly where we live and I seem to go between fourth and fifth alot more than I would like. The motor is stock except for V&H slip ons, stage one A/C and sert, no dyno tune yet. Would a set of 255 cams make a noticeable enough difference or should I jump up to 95" at the same time? I am not looking for a race motor, just some good grunt in the lower rpms.

255's wont work in your motor. You could go with se203's and boost your low end torque a bit. You'd be more happy with the 95+cams though.

You'll get alot of opinions and most of them will be right. Different strokes for different folks. You could do just cams for now, like 203's, 204's or 211's. The BB can always be added later.

I done the BB with 211's and mild headwork over the winter and I can tell you that you would not be disappointed at all with this setup. My Ultra is a new machine and has plenty of grunt at all rpm's.

Don't forget the SERT and a good tuner with whatever you choose.

My brother has a 2006 RK Custom and added cams. He tours quite a bit and always two up, and is happy with the bike. It sounds bad *** with cams in it and Rinehart TD's. I heard the before and after, it's an impressive sound change.

Don't know the mileage, but I would start out with the cams only because you should go in and check/get rid of the crappy tensioner setup and go with the SE hydraulic upgrade kit and a set of cams. Then do the big bore later.

I looked at the SE catalog and picked a cam for lower rpms. I then asked my wrench and he agreed on the SE203's. Really helps on the low end. I can just twist throttle a lot of times instead of downshifting. Best power around 3000 rpms. Of course with the SERT, true duals and cams I know get 35mpg. Probably need another wrench to retune and maybe could get a little more mileage, does run a lot cooler. 08 FLTR, 80.55 hp, 92.4 torgue.

Dawg has some good advice. I just did that with my 05. Conversion kit with 21N cams. I am happy with the result. If I hadn't had to go in the cam chest to do something with the tensioners I probably wouldn't have changed cams. But since I was in there, glad I did.

On the advice of PhilM I just did BB using SE flattops, Andrews 126H cams
and went with SE Hydraulic cam plate upgrade.
I went from 73 HP to 85 HP - 73 fpt to 94 fpt. A very noticeable difference.
Those numbers are using a canned map. I haven't had it dyno tuned yet.

Default Best battery

What's the longest lasting battery for the Ultra Glide 07, Deka ETX 30 L or is there another better one?

Has anyone tried the Mackie 575 cams on there 07 ultra glide?
