Based on the logic that ya'll have given I would think that if the high flow air filter is causing the engine to burn as lean as you say, then I would think that the engine would not run right. Such as rough idle, excessive popping and poor throttle response. I have none of these problems. The engine runs the same as it did with the stock filter. Basicly all you guys that have Power Commanders are doing the same thing by customizing your own maps until the motor runs the way you like it.
If you have not done a plug exam, then you have no idea how your bike is running, mixture wise. A lean running bike can still seem to run well to someone who might not know what it should feel like with the proper tuning. I now see you say it runs same as it did without it, that alone should be reason to check it out. A BIG difference will be felt with that air cleaner and a proper tuned system.

Believing the bike is lean from the factory and wanting to install the SE A/C to start the modification cycle, I went with the PCIII and a dyno. I was not/am not really looking for more power. Instead, I just wanted a bike that ran "correctly". Mine is an 06 EG classic with SE A/C, stock pipes and stock ECU. If you buy the PCIII and want my map, let me know. Torque and HP are about 71.5.

That being said, Rinehart true duals are just a few months away.

I had stock pipes since I didn't want loud. I had them put on a set of SE Touring Pipes. Still quiet, but with higher flow. Fuel mileage came backup and bike was running much better. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't have done the upgrade. To me the bike ran better before the Stage I. Just FYI.
Damn Luke, I just bought SE touring mufflers yesterday. I decided to put a few $$$ into the current bike in preparation for my '08 trips and thought a little more 'umphh' without too much more noise would be worth a try. Hope I don't regret it.

Oh yeah, the touring mufflers were on a clearance table for $230...one of the reasons I just couldn't pass them up.
