Default anyone use K&N air filters?

I haven't heard much about K&N air filters on bikes. I know they're one of the better brands to get when it comes to cages, but I was wondering if they would be good to run on my bike.

I would like to replace my stock air filter with a K&N, but with slip-on pipes I'm not sure whether it would open it up too much requiring a remap, so I may wait til I do the complete Stage 1. They are great filters and on my carbureted bike I just had to re-jet. Just got to save some more $$ and do it right.

From what I've been told, is when you go with an aftermarket a/c you'll need a re-map.

That's the joy of owning an old bike - just rejet in about 10 minutes and you are all set. K&N makes a great filter as you apparently know from your cage. Letting your engine actually breathe a little - IMHO - would never be a bad thing to do. Most of the engines are so restricted to meet EPA standards that you are leaving of ton of power and efficiency on the table without uncorking the thing.

The K&N went on when the stage 1 was done on my bike, and that was 23K miles ago. Breathes good and maintenance is a snap so I'm pleased.

My venturi came with a K&N, I love it. I think more than a few high end AC's come with K&N elements. You shouldn't need to remap if you're just changing elements, it's the whole AC that's restrictive.

Got rid of the stock A/C when I first got my bike and have used K&N filters exclusively. I have a carb on my bike, so rejetting if necessary is less costly for a remap.

Great filters but require cleaning and oiling. I use an air conpressor to blow mine from the inside out, then run it through the dish washer, then re-oil it.

They used to make the Screamin Eagle ones but Harley has since gone to an inferior supplier.

Stage 1 with V&H pipes and a K&N filter kit RK 3909 since day one.
It's a no brainer ...... K&N filters are guaranteed for life and work great. Cleaning is easy.
Buy one and don't look back.
