Why do they call them dealers, when they wont deal?
Okay - Mike - Stay tuned - I am about to try almost the same thing as you - I quit my job today and start the new gig on the 27th - I have learned a lot and I want to try to upgrade my 05 Softail to the Electra Glide Classic I should have got in the first place and I am going to use the extra time I have to try to swing the deal - Like I mentioned before I am willing to get bitten a little and understand dealers are business to make money but it should not be that painful! - Please keep us posted as to the final outcome and I will let you know how I make out

I trailer my bike this Saturday to the dealer - 84 miles - and drop it off, fill out the paperwork, but I will not give him a check until I return from Ukraine on the 12th of July.
He said that my new RK will be waiting with my tag on it, gassed up and ready to ride home.
No doubt you did the right thing, amazing isn't it that dealers let people walk, I have found a lot of times while your dealing on something, someone else is as well, so many times they get a better profit deal and just let you go with the excuses like yours was. Sometimes they just think people are stupid and will pay or believe anything they tell you. I believe once you come to an agreement on trade or any price, then don't change it on me, or I will walk as well.
You can now say you have 2,500 reasons you bought from the other dealer. Hope you enjoy that RK when you get it.

I will enjoy every minute of it. Especially when I ride it up to the local shop and show it off.
