Default Stage 1 difference?

I have an 09 Road King that runs beautifully. All I have done is added Vance and Hines basic slip ons. I am ready to go with SE AC and HD download for now. Eventually I am going to go PCV from fuel moto for my exact setup. My question is how much difference in power can I expect from just adding SE AC and the download? Will it be much different than what I am running now? If there is not that much of a difference I will just wait and spend the extra cash for the PCV. Thanks for your response. Jeff

Personally, I don't think you'll see that much difference.

With that said, I'd suggest installing the TTS now. You'll have the ability to keep the bike in tune as changes are made.

And you can tune the bike yourself...eliminates being at the mercy of someone else sending you maps.

If you are going with the Fuel Moto setup in the future, I would say you are waisting your money with the HD download.

I have a 2006 RKC with 11K miles. When she was new, I added V and H slash cuts, a SE Air filter, and bought the race tuner hand had the downloads done. 06 was the first year for the exhaust cats. I noticed a dramatic difference when the engine was allowed the increased air flow...like night and day. It was amazing to me how much the the air flow was choking the engine from the factory. My only suggestion would be to go with a K and N filter rather the the SE. I changed to the K and N after about 3K miles after the SE filter started coming apart. There are other threads about how cheap and short lasting the SE filters are. When they start to come apart, the material simply is sucked into the engine. The K and N is a permanent, cleanable filter with a lifetime warranty. Good luck

The only significant difference I notice after a Stage 1 and download on my '09 Ultra Classic was a louder intake.

Save your money and don't get the Stage 1 download. Wait and get the PCV, bike will run cooler and better.

You will get a small performance gain. I agree, get the PC V or TTS now. This way you can make minor changes on your own.

Just ride it the way you got it. The only reason I would go with a fuel tuner would be if I needed to to cool the engine down some, if that's not a problem for you just save your pennies. You won't notice much difference if any with the full stage 1 unless you ride in the higher than average rpm range, if you do then go for it.

You're not going to get a "huge" increase in power by just changing the air flow but it will be noticeable.

I would wait and get the PCV and forget the download. When I did my Stage 1 it woke the bike up.
