Angry Power Commander V help

Installed the Power Commander V with the Auto Tune on my 2010 Rk tonight. Suddenly, the bikes throttle doesn't work and the bike runs rough until it sputters, belches smoke from the air cleaner and dies.... When I remove the Power Commander the throttle works fine and the bike runs normally... When the Power Commander is installed and it is hooked up to my laptop the software shows that the throttle is bouncing from 0%-100% when the throttle is not being touched. I have checked and rechecked all connections. Any help would be great.

I would go check to make sure the auto tune is hooked up exactly like its described if it isn't the bike will not work properly also moisture or bad connections can cause the pc v to die on you what i recommend is keep the pcv installed and disconnect the auto tune and see if the problem persists if it doesn't then you narrowed it down to the auto tune it will give you at least a place to start looking

Not sure what symptom this would cause - but did you unplug your O2 sensors? (It's a shot in the dark...)

I've tried disconnecting the Auto Tune and running only the Power Commander with a base map still the same thing happens. The O2 sensors are both unplugged as well. Moisture shouldn't be an issue, the bike hasn't been able to leave the garage. Thank you for your help FLS2FLH!

For your sake I hope that you bought it from a relable source. You need to call up who you bought it from and go over all your connections over the phone and once that is established, go from there, as there's really nothin' that any of us can do for you via the internet.

It could just be a bad box (PCV)... Does the software have a diagnostic option?

I have a 2009 "fly by wire" bike and the PC-V with the Auto-Tune functions just great for me.

When you installed the Auto-Tune, did you connect the correct modules into the correct ports on the PC-V itself? This *DOES* make a difference according to the documentation. Also, did you check the checkbox that tells your PC-V to use the Auto-Tune. And finally, did you plug the Auto-Tune modules into the diagnostic port of your bike?

Obviously, if you begin disconnecting things for troubleshooting purposes, you will need to undo some of that in order to get it to operate correctly.

Spoke with Jay at Dynojet and we had to reinstall the PCV software to version 1.0.3.2 and then update the firmware to version 0.1.4.0. The firmware had to be downloaded three times or so to get all of the information into the PCV before it started to recognize the throttle and then finally download the firmware three more times before the AFR values started to show up on the computer. Thank you everyone for your help!!!

Wow. Something must have gone horribly wrong for you. I've done two firmware updates on my PC-V since I got it and they all worked the first time.

If I were you, I would be concerned that you have a faulty PC-V.
