On second thought, don't look bad at all. Nice job! I was just kidding about the allen heads looking like chit. It's whatever anybody wants to use.

If you go the allen route dont forget to get washers. The allens don't have much of a shoulder...
I personally never had any problems with the torx head bolts. It has a lot to do with the quality of the bit you are using. Crappy bits like the one's from Harbor Freight will give you crappy results but the good bits work fine in my opinion.

You hit the nail on the head. I've never had a problem with the torx head bolt's either. The secret is keeping the torx bit straight and apply pressure with the palm of your hand pushing inward as you loosen them. When you reinstall the bolts, use the torque sequence and be careful not to over tighten.

I put a bit of PB blaster on them the night before I change out the fluid. Never had a problem with them stripping either.

I think they look great!! You just convinced me to do the same thing. However, I believe I'll polish mine first. For ease of removal compared to the torx that came on the bike...COUNT ME IN!!
Why the heck didn't I read this yesterday! Oh yeah, I was doing all three holes on two bikes. So I had the primary covers off.......could have sent Momma into town to pick up chrome allens at Ace, but nooooo. Now they are all square and buttoned back up with the torx and I agree those allens look good.
Oh well, wind advisories here today, maybe I will pull them back off today anyway.
Chrome bolts are the way to go IMHO. Just put a dab of silicone on the Allen wrench tip when installing them and it will nearly eliminate any chance of rust.
