same thing on my 2010 streetglide. Dealer checked out everything and all is working properly. adjusted clutch and still there. Others with 09 later bikes have it too - it appears to be normal, although it sounds wierd.
I made my dealer note my complaint on my 1000 mile service bill so I have a record that it was reported.
Don't worry about it.
As I said earlier, I also can't believe this is normal so I took it to a 2nd dealership. That service rep had no hesitation at all when he said it was normal. I also had a sloppy clutch lever after the 1000 mi service. I took it back and had them adjust that-there was no improvement in the noise. When I was there for the lever adjustment I again mentioned my dissatisfaction in the noise and was told that they took another listen and still believe it is normal. I am planning to stop at 1 more dealership in my area and if they say it is normal-3 out of 3 dealerships- I guess I will have to believe them.
I believe it is the compensating sprocket, if the noise is coming from the front of the primary.
+1 on that, it is the compensating sprocket, they used to be spring loaded but are no longer spring loaded. It takes the shock away from the clutch and tranny. You just started hearing it either because it finally wore in a little or it was adjusted correctly at the 1000 mile service.
I have a 2010 UC with 4500 miles on it and it doesn't make this noise. I would say as long as it's documented it should be covered when whatever it is breaks.
Not sure if it's the same thing. Mine's more of a click when releasing the clutch. I think I was able to duplicate it during my last clutch adjustment. Mine seems to be comming from the release plate when the clutch lever is fully released. There's a tiny bit of play there.

hmmm, mine is barely audible, seems like a little play in the compensator. definately more noticable when the engine is hot and the oil is thinner. I'm not too concerned with it.
Ok,it sounds as though the clutch (when hot) making a clicking sound when pulled in or released might be normal, although I'm still not sure on this. Now the sound that really bothers me is the rattle from the right side of the bike(NOT the primary side)with the bike HOT and in neatral with clutch out. Pull clutch in rattle stops. Will not do this when cold.

Does the rattle disappear when you lean it over on the side stand?
