Default Will lowers help?

I have a 09 SG with 10.5" Clearview recurve windshield. I'm 6'2" with 32" inseam so I sit tall. My chin is even with the top of the windshield and the wind just clears the top of my half helmet. My glasses stay put but I have a lot of buffering in my ears. I felt around with my hands and it appears to be coming up from around my legs and it gets worse when I put my feet on the highway pegs. Will lowers help this? I have the SE heavy breather so I think my only option is hog chops.
Any input would be appreciated, Thanks

They will help out considerably. I went with the Kuryakyn dragon wings as I think that they look cooler than do the HD ones. Also a fork baffle will help out some too as it keeps the air focused down lower where it should be rather than coming up from between your legs and into your face.

The correct windshield height would do wonders also. The windshield should hit you about the middle of the nose. It's no wonder you are getting buffeting with that short of windshield.

Lowers made a huge difference on my Road Glide. It's only May and I'm already riding with the vents open. I recommended getiing vented lowers if you get them at all.

As I said I felt around with my hand and the wind is coming up from around my legs. I have no wind getting to my ears from around the windshield.

I don't really care for the looks of toughs but if it will help I'll try anything.

Do the Hog Chops have vents. Again, I'll do about anything even suffer a little bit more heat if the lowers would fix the buffering.

Thanks

Having never ridden behind a fairing bike until last week, I can tell you the correct windshield and the correct height will take most of the buffeting away. I read a ton of posts before I bought my shield, and the clearview w/recurve is a great shield. My line of sight is a good 3" above the top, but the recurve throws it to the top of my helmet. I should have got one of them before I added the batwing to my bike. Now I see why people love them. I actually rode the hiway at 70 and removed my earplugs and the noise is cut in half from the regular RK shield set up I had.

I rode my bike before and after the lowers were put on, and the lowers throw air right in your face and create a different wind turbulence all together. So now I'm adding freedom wings to the bottom of the batwing to cure that. But, they do help with the wind on the legs in the cold. Yeah, it's still in the low 40's and 50's here in WA.

If what you are looking at does not have vents you will not like the heat that is retained around you feet and lower legs.

The Kuryakyn Dragon Wings that were mentioned in an earlier post are the ones that go on the fairing, personally I think the Kuryakyn ones look hideous.

I'm 6' 0" with a 32" inseam and use a backrest so I too sit up pretty tall.

I have the 9 1/2" Clearview w/recurve and have no bufferring with the following,
I have the fork baffle, the HD adjustable fairing wings and the lowers.

I don't know if the fork baffle helps but I'm leaving it on

I never open the fairing wings unless it's over 100 degrees. If I do I get some buffering

Before I put the lowers on I could not use the highway pegs at all at 70 mph.
It would throw the wind right up my legs and into my face. With the lowers it doesn't matter where I put my feet.

With the vents on the lowers:
I open the right one above 70 degrees,
I open the left one above 80 degrees
and I take the vents (the sliding black part) completely out for summer riding, which here in Texas is 95 and above from May 15th - Sept 15th.

I do have wind in my ears with the Clearview windshield above 65 mph, that is kinda annoying.
Nothing will stop that unelss you go with a wider Clark's Custom Winshield.

I would agree that the fairing mounted wings are the way to go. If you hunt around here, there is a guy down south that makes them. I will try to find the website in my many book marks and post it. I talked with him for a good 20 minutes, real nice guy. They run about $50 and bolt right to the three or four bolts on the sides of your fairing. I figure this is a cheap way to go to start rather than spending big $$ for lowers. Just my 2 cents.

Here ya go, check this guy out. http://www.customflhtwindshields.net/7elads.htm
