I hardly ever even ride it in the rain...Thats a policy of mine.; I wont leave the house in the rain, however, I will ride home in it. No honestly, when I wash its just a gentle spray to wet, hand wash, rinse, then squeege dry. The problem is either lube related, (read cheap) or low quality bearings (read Cheap)...and yes I am interested in a high quality replacement for both ends of my scoot...Anybody out there got any #'s or Ideas?
I had to replace the rear at 30k and the front at 40k.
I never pressure wash my bike. I do ride in all weather though including some rain storms I would rather not have.
I had one go bad in about 22k miles. I felt like a little surging when cruising down the highway it was subtle but you could feel it. You could also feel a little slop when you take off or decelerate also. You could also tell by looking at the chain tensioner stops and the adjustment cams on the axle a space between the stop and the cam adjuster was appearant. I took it in and yes she was bad coming apart bad. I have heard that it may be caused by the axle being over tightend but I don't know.
Great, I feel a slight surge when I ride and was trying to figure out what it was. I'll yank both wheels and check the bearings - glad you posted this or I may not have checked!
