Just bought a 2007 road king from dream machines of texas. Was trying to figure out how i can determine what has all been done to motor with out tearing it down. It has manual compression releases, heads have cnc ported on them. Has rhinehart exhaust heres a pic of motor. they didnt have specs of motor and i would like to know if theres castings on jugs or something to identify what stage kit and maybe if a harley dealership did the work do they keep that on file by vin# . any help appreciated

I believe they do. When I crashed my 05 Ultra, the guy who bought it for salvage tracked down the dealership of purchase via the VIN. They would not give him any info until they talked to me... they didn't know about the crash.
Was told that it had a 103 kit in it by them. Then had another guy tell me its a 113 because of the cnc ported heads with manual compression releases. They dont offer that as a kit with the 103 and cnc ported heads so im a little confused. that why i was wondering if there is a way to tell by casting numbers on jugs to tell what size slugs are in it or by vin# if harley did it thanks
If performed by an HD dealer they should keep track of the work performed for warrenty reasons, via computer, so maybe a local HD dealer can look up for you by vin#
will try that thanks for the help. I just like to know everything i can about my stuff. Built a few drag cars in my day still have the part numbers in my head.
called my local dealer and found out where it was sold at. Talked to service dept. and he told me everything about it and previous owner. It is a 103 big bore kit with screaming eagle 260 cams, screaming eagle throttle body was also dyno tuned there.and said the guy who owned it was very paticular and wanted nothing but the best it was brought to dealership for every service new and that synthetic oil was used since break in. Feel more confident about it now. He said the bike was bought in jan07 and the kit was put in march 07 so it has roughly 11000 miles on it. appreciate the help
