My appointment is coming up on the 12th with MCC. I cannot decide which mod to do. I am not looking to change the riding position at all, I just want a more comfy seat. I have an 09 Ultra with the 2010 running seat change model#52164-10. I cannot decide between the impact gel with memory foam, or the double decker memory foam. I have spoken with MCC some, and those are the options they recommend. Does anyone who has had work done have any input?
I have a Badlander seat that was as hard as a rock and a little to wide. Had them narrow the sides and put in the memory foam. Made a world of difference. The badlander is not a very thick seat so I couldnt go crazy like double or gel and memory foam but Im very happy with the out come. Excellent fit and finish also. Dont know about the gel but mem foam is very soft and comfy. Double mem foam sounds good to me???

Thanks
I've heard that the gel retains alot of heat. I have the badlander seat and love it. But... I had put some stiff shocks on once and made the seat feel very hard. So, depending on your suspension I think the foam is a great idea. I just might try it myself. Remember, if you plan to modify any seat, a plastic plan is easier to work with.
Best of luck,
Tom
I have a seat that I had modified by MCC. I had the double memory foam done in both driver and passenger areas. Did not change the riding position at all. While the seat is much more comfortable than stock, I preferred the feel of the Sundowner seat, so I purchased a used one off of ebay. The MCC modified seat is sitting in a box in my attic. Its from an 09 Ultra also. I'd be willing to sell it to you if it would save you any money/time. I'm located in the San Diego area and these things are expensive to ship. Let me know.
I had the double memory foam with deluxe
heaters installed and could not be any happier.
On a cold morning the seat feels stiff until the heater
(which seems to be a gel element) kind of
thaws out with butt heat, so, I feels the gel
insert would not be for me. MCC does great
work and I am confident you will be satisfied.

I actually already have an appt and a deposit down but I appreciate the offer.
Everyone seems to be pretty happy with the double decker, but I have not read many comments on the gel with memory foam. Hopefully someone who has had the impact gel with foam will chime in.
