Yaffe Monkey Bars and fairing mirrors on '10 Glide?
I like the look of the 12" PYO Monkey bars and I think I want them.
For those who have em, can you still use your fairing mirrors? Seen some bikes with bar-mounted mirrors and some without. What can I expect? My shirt arm length is 34".
Cost will play a part in this move, cuz good mirrors aren't cheap!
Mine will be here next week. That's the plan anyways! I'm planning on keeping the stock mirrors. I'm 6'1 with the brawler seat which drops me down 2" and back a ways. That's going to make them feel a bit taller I imagine.
I'll post an update when they're installed. Leaving for the Sturgis area in 3 weeks. Hope to have them installed by then. If I don't F something up! 430 miles there, riding 2 days out there and the ride home. will surely give me a good feel for them!
Sounds like a great trip. I'm 5'11" with long arms. If you think too, please post how the bars vs. mirrors work. I put my hands in the guesstimate position of the bars and I see the mirrors clearly.
I'm not sure where to go first....I know the stock bars are way too small and cramp me=gotta change first. Haven't put enough miles on the factory seat to make a call just yet. My thought is to get the hand position comfortable first and then look at seats.
SDVmnt, let me know when you get to Rapid City, maybe we could meet up, I have a 2010 Silver Street Glide, looking for more comfort (im 6'3") , want some Apes, but would rather see them on a bike before i make the purchase. Pretty much in the same boat as Cuzkee, not sure if i want to mess with the seat first,,or the bars.
