Default Question about ape handlebar rise and pullback

I am currently running Khrome Werks Sweepers +2 on my 09 FLHT and am happy with the amount of pullback, but I would like something taller (rise). I was considering doing apes, but from what I can tell although I would gain height (rise) apes tend to be closer to the fairing therefore I would lose pullback. I sat on a Street Glide at the dealer which had Cyclesmith 13" apes on it, which were a bit too high for me and didn't have enough pullback. I guess I would like something around 10-11 inches tall, but with a decent amount of pull back so I am not stretching to reach the bars. I want my hands behind the fairing, but again, not right up against the fairing like a lot of the apes I have seen. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Wondering about either Wild 1 577 or YF Monkey Bagger bars - they both seem pretty popular around here.

it depends where you get your apes from, different makes have different pullback, but the beauty of apes is that you can adjust the pullback as much as you wants, the taller they are the more pullback you gain when you adjust them back.
good luck

I had the +2's, same problem as you. I am installing Wild 1 chubby's this weekend. I will take a pic this weekend before I install with the +2's on the floor so you can see the difference and will take pics after the install as well...

Which Wild 1's are you going with, the 575 or 576/7 apes?
