Default Help front end clunk

I did a fork oil change and put S/E heavy in went well. Took the bike out and now there is a definite clunk on pot hole or bumps thought it might be the heavier oil making the clunk from the steering head bearing.. I did a steering head adjustment twice and I know the steering head is tight, but i still get the clunk. Could it be the forks ?? any help would be nice, I am at a lose.

When you did the steering head adjustment, how many swings did you get? What accessories, etc. do you have mounted up front if any when performing the check?

Had four before the adjustment and just about 3 when I did the second adjustment. Just the regular runnug gear and no fairing

I'm subscribing to this thread same thing happened to me. Over the winter changed the fork oil out to the SE heavy and now when i go over railway tracks in town or just the lip of the driveway I get a clunk on the front end that wasn't there before. Hopefully someone can chime in and figure this one out for us!

Wow, three with clunky forks after changing to SE Heavy. Mine don't clunk, bottom, or do anything other than give improved control. I would really like to know the cause of this problem! If any of you change back to Type E or use Dawg's mix, please report back the result.

Default clunk

I have adjusted the neck bearing 4-5 times and triple check it all with same results. I taped and removed any thing that could clunk and road with out the fairing cover or the radio in and it all seems to be from the triple tree area ( bearing/forks ) WTF is going on. I am 180 Mile from stealer I will go back to E oil when I get some. Or I may change out the neck bearings.
