Default Replacing motor covers...

Getting ready to replace my chrome primary, cam and tranny covers with black ones. I have the service manual and found torque settings, etc. but can't seem to find much on the removal itself. Do I need to drain all the oils for all 3 parts or are there any tricks? Like tipping the bike to one side or the other? I just changed everything over to synthetic before deciding to do some more black out and really don't want to wait till the next change. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Even if I can do SOME of it and wait on the rest.

Guess if I'm going to change the cam, now would be the time to do it, huh?

I did mine and u will have to drain the primary. On the cam and trans cover you just need to pull the bike up on a 2x6 and let the bike lean over and you will only lose about a half of qaurt between the 2

Followed the service manual to a tee and everything worked like a charm. Now that I've tackled that and have some more black, the chrome rocker boxes HAVE to go. Wrinkled ones are on their way. Looks a little more intense yet somewhat easy if the instructions are followed. Wish me luck!
