that's good to know guys. i've been looking for something to use on my vivid black streetglide. i've seen what zainos does, but it's really hard to find. that stuff makes black shine like glass, such a deep gloss, it's amazing. i don't use any type of abrasive wax at all. i have been using blue coral carnauba wax or zumo, the liquid german stuff. and they both work very well, but if the black box is superior, then i'll get that kit. thanks for the information. i just don't like the idea of furniture polish/oil on my paint.

I've used Zaino and several other high quality waxes. Some of them actually seemed to highlight the scratches in the clear coat making them look worse. That's why I think the Black Box worked so well on the HD clear coat. It fills and hides the scratches.
Just subscribed,
Where do you guys buy this stuff? Been using Turtle Wax ICE with good results on my 93 FXLR, but just bought a new Vivid Black Tri-Glide. Trust me guys it takes alot more than an hour to clean this beast!!
I have used black box with good results. Got it at autozone or one of those type places. It was around $20. Don't think I would use it on a non black bike though. The wax and quick shine are dyed black. Best to use gloves when apply it too, it will turn your hand black
I would argue that this is not the right kind of tool for the job. Today's paint jobs have clear coats, (hint: clear), so a colored wax is just hiding the problem. I use Meguiar's Swirl X and Ultimate Compound for scratches/swirls, follow up with Meguiar's Carnauba Wax, then use Zaino. Looks like glass. However, with all this being said, I only do this 1-2 times per year, it takes me a good 8 hours, but it is a real deep cleaning. The I will only wash her when you cannot tell she is black anymore.
It comes with 2 applicators for use with the cleaner & carnuba. You need quite a few MF towels also. I just used the black box on mine, worked good. Seems like a long process, but it's worth it.
I also use the black box on my vivid black scoot. It works great however is time consuming.

I have a black Ultra and had a black 05. Have all the best professional polishes and waxes and PC dual action buffer. Got lazy and started using Pledge stuff and it was a disaster. Dirt and dust sticks to mine. Others say it's the best.
I bought Black Box and after 5 years of a black dressers, imho, this is absolutely the best. the shine is hard as glass ( instead of soft like others) and cover a lot of swirls. However, if you have swirls, I'd use the Porter Cable dual action buffer with CCC pads with a mild abrasive to smooth them out and then use Black Box. imho. Use the Blaster to dry it. Every time something touches a black HD, it gets swirls.
Just walking by a black HD will put swirls on it.

I agree 100% I also have a PC buffer. Used it to smooth out the bigger swirls and the BB to finish it off.
I picked up a box of it at the parts store, and i love it. i tried everything and nothing worked for those little swirls, black box one night, very little work and the bike looked like i just took it off the show room floor, smooth as glass.
it will not get rid of any scratch that is deeper than the swirls though. so if you have a prominent scratch (zipper of jacket hit tank, boot scuffed the rear fender ect ect.)of any degree, it will not help, you simply will have to buff that out. I will turn the scratch black agian, but its there, dont expect a miricle.
I just started using Meguiar's NXT paste. It has hid 95% of the swirls and getting caught in the rainstorm 30 miles away from home a couple of weeks ago, it sure beaded up nice on the paint. I may roll with the Turtle Wax to get rid of the other 5%. It sounds like it would
