new air filter help please

Default new air filter help please
i have an 06 sg and i got apc3 and air filter setup from fuelmoto they sell a k&n high flow airfilter kit. few questions i have please

first the 2 hoses that connect to the 2 nipples on the bolts are no longer used i just want to make sure this is normal.

and also you reuse the stock air filter cover but since u dont use the stock backing plate do you take the gasket off from around the cover it seems like it will fall off if i do not.

and lastly the air filter cover since theres no more stock backing plate just kinda lays over the new filter assembly looks kinda weird to me that its not a closed setup i just want to make sure this is normal also.

dont know how to do pics i thought someone might know from doing theres it is a regular k&n filter assembly with new backing plate.

It can run a little rough if it gets really wet. If there's a chance for major rain I can put the stock cover back on. So far no problems.
