Default Roadking lean backfire

Dealer looked @ my king this week it hesitates & backfires through intake. They tell me they can't duplicate it and after further testing (it already has 25deg injectors) they tell me that moco says the only way to fix it is for ME to buy a SERT.MOCO says if they change the map it won't pass emmissions and they suggest I let it warm up for 5-7 minutes before I ride it. Why should I have to pay 18,000 plus for a bike and then spend another 500. for a tuner to make it run properly stock.Anyone else having problems and what is the fix?

Thanks

I have an 06 r/k. Had the exact same problem. Got tired of the dealers b/s. Called the moto company and complained. I took the bike to another dealer. The moto company called them and told them to remap the computor and set the injectors to the 8 degree setting even though I had the new 25 degree injectors, Problem solved. no more pops or stalls coughs or anything. Bike runs great. I felt the same way you do. Why should you pay extra for the bike to run from the factory. f--- that make them fix it!!

My $35,000 CVO died on me two times completely stock with less than 500 miles on it. At idle I jumped on the throttle and it would hiccup and die. Pissed me off until today when I put a pair of touring screaming eagle pipes on with a PCIII and Ness big sucker. I toyed with a canned map and richened the fuel at 100% throttle and advanced more fuel at zero throttle by 10 percent which eliminated the backfiring. I will ride it for a few hundred miles and check the plugs (visually) to make sure the bike is not running too rich, even though you want it rich rather than lean which could burn your motor up. If I foul a few plugs it is not a major headache. After my 1000 mile checkup I will most likely have the bike dynoed for a custom map but I am in no hurry. Just another example of how these bikes need some tuning from the stock condition, especially the 2007's which run leaner than previous years.
