Ultimate seats are memory foam seats. If you want soft and cushy, they are the way to go. I tried one on my 07 SG. My wife LOVED it. It was a bit too soft for me, made my butt squirm after a few hours, but thats just me. In fairness, the weather was VERY hot (100+) the week I was trying mine, and that was probably a bit contributing factor to the sqirming problem I was having, more so that the seat itself. But in general I prefer something a bit more firm. (Mustang) The shape was also not quite right for my butt either, but again, thats MY butt. Your milage may vary.

When I got mine, they only made 1 piece for baggers, and to be honest, it was NOT an attractive (to most people) seat, but I was willing to overlook that if it worked well. They have since come out with a 2 piece design that to me, looks much nicer. Its not sleek looking, but it looks much better than the 1pc design did. Its made for comfort, not looks. I think the 2 pc looks a bit more rounded in the "bucket" of the seat, which was my issue with the 1pc I tried.

They also have a good rider backrest for it, that fits into the seat itself. I liked the angle and adjustability of it (very similar to Mustangs) and especially liked that it was about 2" narrower and 1" less thick than HD's, which gives more room for the passenger and her legs. I believe you can order the seat with the backrest hardware in it, and order the backrest itself at a later date if you choose (unlike Mustang). Another plus.

Honestly, I would have liked to try one of the new 2pc seats on my 09, but decided to modify a Mustang (to make the wife happy) instead. Figured I would stick with what I know I like and fix her part to her liking. (put memory foam and gel in the rear section)

Ultimates will sit you about the same as a stock HD touring seat, so if you want to drop down or move back, its probably not going to be for you.

They have a 14 day return policy if you don't like the seat (ordered directly from them) or did when I got mine 2 years ago.

So in short, if you want a good sized soft cushy memory foam seat that sits about the same position as a stock touring seat, and has a good rider backrest option, I would give them a shot.

Owners name is Des.

I've had three Ultimate seats. Two on metrics (VTX and Roadliner) and one on an Ultra. As noted, they are "cushy" and they are big. I like the cushier feel, and it's especially nice if you have arthritis or other back problems. The rider backrest is a MUST have item.

I've not ordered a new seat for the '10 Limited yet. I'm going back and forth between Ultimate, the new Mustang "Super Touring" seat, and the HD Road Zepplin. Mustang is in 3rd place based on my past experience with them. They are good seats, but as noted they are a bit harder. I like the cushy feel of the Ultimate, and I think I'd like the air adjustability of the RZ. But spending $750 to $800 is awful lot of money not to be sure.

At this point, the probably deciding factor is going to be this upcoming trip. I'm heading for Reno, NV, and then the PCH (San Francisco to Cambria, likely) before heading back home to southern Utah. So far, I think I like the OEM seat on the '10 Limited more than what I had on the Ultra. I know some have suggested the '09 seats are better, but that's not been my experience so far. By the end of the trip I'll know better how much I need a new seat. If this OEM seat works okay, I'll just add the rider's backrest and not get either the Ultimate or RZ. I'll know more in about 1600 miles.

I just purchased a 2005 Ultra with a stock seat. Having just moved from a Stratoliner to this bike the Harley feels tight in legroom and the seating positon slides me forward towards the tank. I would like a seat that pushes me back a little. I am 5'10" 190lbs. Its just that I had lots of room to move around on the Stratoliner versus the Ultra, any suggestions?
