Default Road Sofa

Any body running the Saddleman Road Sofa? How do you like it?

I put one on my SG two summers ago. It took much longer than I anticipated to get it after I ordered it. While I was waiting for it, I bought a Sundowner for a trip my wife and I were going on.

We got the road sofa on a Thursday and left for a 700 mile trip on Friday. The seat was very comfortable to sit on, but the passenger part was much higher than the stock seat. I would guess that it raised my wife's riding position about 5". The medium backrest was not tall enough with this seat. There wasn't any space between the top of the seat and the bottom of the backrest pad.

One of the reasons we switched from a heritage to a sg was because she didn't like being higher than me on the seat. She likes using me for a windblock. My wife weighs 100lbs less than I do, but her higher position did make the bike a little harder to handle in the parking lots.

When we got home on Sunday evening, she told me that she liked the Sundowner just as good or better. I called Saddleman. They have a three day return policy. They didn't count the weekend and said I was within my three day inspection period. They took the seat back and gave me a full refund for the seat. I was only out the shipping both ways to try it.

I liked the seat, but I am fine with just the stock seat. It was bought for my wife's comfort and she didn't like it any better than the $200 cheaper Sundowner. I am very grateful for Saddleman's customer service and taking the seat back.

I have one on my 2010 RGC and the wife and I love it. My last ride had an Air Zepplin, and the Road Sofa in my opinion is leaps and bounds better then the zepplin.

......... mine was a big, big improvement over the stock seat. The backrest has been great & the GF likes the wider passenger pillion.
... If it was heated i'd be willing to ride it any distance in any dry conditions.
