Stock FLHX seat? Ha! Good for posing but not for long rides. Sundowner seat was a little better but I still got monkey butt and wifey was not very impressed. Sent the Sundowner off to Mean City Cycles for driver cut down and set-back with memory foam under the driver and two layers of foam for passenger. MMmmmm, a little better, a great bucket profile for me and much better for the passenger.
Then comes the Iron Butt (NE1000) 1000 miles in 19 hours ride and my a$$ still ached the next day. So I rolled the dice and ordered a V2.0 Hammock Seat from the MoCo and four of us departed for a 1300 mile roundtrip to the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island. This seat is the one. No numbness and I could feel the suspension in the seat compressing on the high speed rollers.
The way we rode? Leave at 0800 and ride well above the speed limit for hours at a time, ( WFO on the Street Glide seems to be 122mph ) only stopping about every 200 miles for fuel. We would end the day at suppertime. In other words we were glued to the saddle for 8 hours or so. This seat treated me very well and I have no desire to shop for anything else.
I've been lookin' at this one myself. It seems my back isn't as forgiving as it used to be, to say the least. Thanks for the review. Sounds like a great seat.
I should have added that I'm 63, 6'1" and 200 lbs. (with a skinny azz)
Really fussy about my equipment and this seat works extremely well. I would prefer a deeper bucket but that would limit the cush for the tush, using a backrest with this seat makes it all day comfortable. From my information this latest version has a hammock foundation for the passenger as well - wifey likes it.

Sounds like a winner. How about passenger comfort?
The new hammock seat is supposed to be standard on the 11 Ultra Limited. If that is in fact the seat I received, I have not been impressed with the ride over the Road Zeppelin I had on the 03. It doesn't bottom out as much as the stock seat, I will give it that much but overall comfort on a 300 mile day has not been there for me. I am glad you found something that works well for you.
I love my Hammock seat too....... 1400 mile weekend kept me laughing at my riding buddies and their hurting backsides...... like a recliner that hauls butt......
